Applied Technology & Trades

The industrial workforce continues to employ a large portion of today’s working population in areas such as construction and manufacturing technologies. San Jacinto College Continuing and Professional Development applied technology and trades division offers courses and programs for a number of today’s industrial professions. Enroll in one of our hands-on trade courses in areas such as automotive, electrical, sheetmetal, welding, or pipefitting. We also offer a professional truck driving program coordinated with the Department of Transportation. If you are looking for a more analytical approach to combining science with industrial operations, consider our nondestructive testing courses such as magnetic particle testing, ultrasonics, or digital radiography. For a more technology-based program, enroll in our basic or advanced process troubleshooting course. Designed for beginning or current process operators/technicians, these courses offer training covering topics from introduction to process instrumentation and troubleshooting to performing emergency shut-down operations using prescribed procedures.
