Funded Training
San Jacinto College’s Continuing and Professional Development division offers a wide range of Funded Training through the Texas Public Education Grant (TPEG) program. CPD’s Funded Training provides free job training to prepare qualifying students for entry-level positions across a variety of fields/industries.
Some areas of training include Business, Applied Technologies (such as welding and commercial truck driving), Computers and IT (such as Microsoft software training), and Health Occupations (such as medical billing and coding).
The TPEG grant typically covers the cost of tuition and books, but the specific grant award does vary by training program. In some cases, the job training is complemented by additional computer and job readiness training.
Scholarships may be awarded to students with demonstrated financial needs. To be eligible, students must complete an application packet and provide supporting income tax information. In addition, candidates must be Texas residents (12 months), be registered with the Selective Service System (males only) and not be in default of a student loan.
