Auto Body

Traffic accidents happen around the clock. With more and more vehicles taking to the road every year, traffic accidents are not disappearing anytime soon. Collision repair shops are typically backlogged with vehicles needing the attention of skilled technicians. You can help fill the void by entering this rapidly growing field. Our certified instructors will teach you the latest repair and refinish procedures and technologies. You can become a body or frame technician, a painter, or enter related fields such as insurance and estimation, paint retail and new and used parts. If you have a love for art and automobiles, combine them in our advanced courses.

Introduction to current refinishing products, shop safety, and equipment used in the automotive refinishing industry.

Structural Analysis I (ABDR 1041)

Students learn the roughing and shaping procedures on automotive sheet metal necessary to perform body repairs. Topics include the alignment of component parts such as doors, hood, front-end assemblies, and deck lids. Note: Textbook required

Auto Body M&E Service (ABDR 2002)

Duration:
128 hrs                     

A course in the repair, replacement, and/or service of collision damaged mechanical or electrical systems. Topics include drive train removal, reinstallation and service; cooling system service and repair; exhaust system service; and emission control systems. Additional topics include wire and connector repair, reading wiring diagrams, and troubleshooting.

Major Collision Repair (ABDR 2041)

Prerequisites:
Skill level 4

Students learn how to prepare vehicles for major repair processes. Topics include interpreting information from damage reports, planning repair sequences, selecting appropriate tools, and organizing removed parts for reinstallation. Note: Textbook needed

Color Analysis and Paint Matching (ABDR 2053)
