Jazz Camp: June 04-08, 2012          CRN:95303

Held in the Grant Fine Arts Center ~ Room N-1.120

The Jazz Camp offers Houston-area students a chance to learn about this great American fine art from local jazz musicians. Students will learn about jazz history, improvisation/theory, and rehearse in combos together to prepare for a concert on Friday afternoon. The students will perform in a final concert on Friday, June 8, at 12:00 noon in the Fine Arts Center auditorium.

This camp is for age 10 and up students. Snacks are provided daily / Students are to bring a sack lunch each day.

Band Camp: June 11-15, 2012         CRN:95244

Held in the Grant Fine Arts Center ~ Room N-1.120

The Band Camp offers area band members opportunities to further hone their skills and perform band literature. Activities will focus on fundamentals and rehearsing together in preparation for a concert on Friday, June 15 at noon in the Fine Arts Center auditorium.

This camp is for middle school and high school students. Snacks are provided daily / Students are to bring a sack lunch each day.

Piano Camp: June 18-22, 2012         CRN:95349

Held in the Grant Fine Arts Center ~ Room N-1.120

The Piano camp offered at two levels during the week, provides beginners the opportunity to learn beginning piano techniques or for intermediate - level students to further their musicianship and piano skills. The week culminates in a final recital on Friday, June 22 at noon in the Fina Arts Center auditorium.

This camp is for students ages 6-12. Snacks are provided daily / Students are to bring a sack lunch each day.

Guitar Camp: June 25-29, 2012        CRN:95300

Held in the Grant Fine Arts Center ~ Room N-1.120

The Guitar Camp provides students of whatever level a great chance to learn and improve one's guitar playing abilities in any style. The students give a final concert on Friday, June 29 at noon in the Fine Arts Center auditorium. Students must provide their own guitar.

This camp is for students ages 12-19. Snacks are provided daily / Students are to bring a sack lunch each day.

Woodwind/Brass Camp: July 16-20, 2012        CRN:95389

Held in the Grant Fine Arts Center ~ Room N-1.120

The Woodwind and Brass Camp offers Houston-area students the experience of playing woodwind choir pieces or brass choir literature and the means of getting in-shape for the respective marching band-camps. Students will give a joint concert on Friday, July 20 at noon in the Fine Arts Center auditorium.

This camp is for rising 9th grade freshman through rising high school seniors. Snacks are provided daily / Students are to bring a sack lunch each day.

All Sports Camp: August 6-9 & August 13-16, 2012

A four day introduction to selected sports, games and activities. Conditioning, techniques and strategies of selected sports. Activities to be determined. Ages 10-17.

Monday-Thursday: 9:00 am - 12:00 pm                                 COST: $100

Summer Dance Camp: June 18-21, 2012

Learn to dance this summer. Come learn Belly Dance moves for modern music, dance clubs and school dances. Wear comfortable clothing. No zills needed.

Monday-Thursday: 10:00 am - 12:00 pm                               COST: $80

Cupcake Camp: July 17 and August 7, 2012

Sign up for your favorite cupcake camp. Each camp theme will differ during the semester. Stop by the continuing education office for a supply list and project schedule.

Tuesdays: 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm                                              COST: $61

*Each class has a minimum required enrollment. Once that minimum is reached, the class is a “MAKE.” Find a class you like, encourage a friend to join you! Sometimes two or three people can make a difference between having a “Go” and having a course cancelled. Please register at least 7 days prior to class start date.*
