HOUSTON – The San Jacinto College Foundation will host its 23rd annual golf tournament on Tuesday, Oct. 2, at the Golf Club of Houston, home to the prestigious PGA Tour’s Houston Open.
The annual charity event provides scholarship funding for San Jacinto College students through event sponsorships and a tournament raffle. Last year’s tournament raised nearly $100,000 benefitting emergency funding for students impacted from Hurricane Harvey, along with general scholarships and student success program support.
This year’s tournament will honor the San Jacinto College Foundation’s 2018 Legacy Award recipient, Frank Nadolney, a long-time San Jacinto College Foundation board member and past chair, and one of the original founding members of the Foundation. Nadolney has been an active and celebrated member of the North Channel and greater Houston communities, having operated Nadolney Enterprises for more than 50 years. Nadolney’s years of service to Foundation continue to change students’ lives through access to education.
“The San Jacinto College Foundation is proud to recognize Frank Nadolney as this year’s legacy award winner,” said Ruth Keenan, San Jacinto College Foundation executive director of advancement. “Frank’s famous phrase ‘Play Ball,’ is this year’s theme for the 23rd annual golf tournament at Golf Club of Houston. This premier event is a fitting venue to honor one of our founding board members, past board chairman, and dedicated community member who has served the community for more than 50 years.”
Major tournament sponsors include Albemarle Corporation and Albemarle Cares Foundation, PVF (Pipe Valve and Fitting) Roundtable and Texas Citizens Bank. Raffle tickets for a $5,000 and two $2,500 drawings are available courtesy of Texas Citizens Bank, along with a number of additional prizes valued at $100 or more. Raffle tickets are $20 each or six for $100 and can be purchased from the San Jacinto College Foundation office.
The 23rd annual San Jacinto College Foundation golf tournament takes place on Tuesday, Oct. 2, at the Golf Club of Houston located at 5860 Wilson Road in Humble, Texas.
