Here at San Jacinto College, our people are your people. We have Student Success Centers (SSC) staffed with tutors to help you achieve your academic goals. We offer free tutoring to all registered San Jacinto College students on a variety of subjects all year long. Come and take advantage of what we have to offer!

Study Resources

We offer textbooks for the subjects that are being tutored, free computer usage for academic purposes, skills workshops, TSIA prep sessions, supplemental instruction, and English as a Second Language (ESL) and English Language Learners (ELL) support.

Workshops and Resources

Do I need anything to use the Student Success Center and resources? Will it cost anything?

In order to make use of the Student Success Center and any of its resources, you will need your student identification number or San Jacinto College ID card. The SSC is free for students who attend any San Jacinto College campus.

How can I receive tutoring?

The Student Success Center provides free tutoring for San Jacinto College students. Make an appointment for online tutoring. No appointment is required for in-person tutoring. Stop by anytime with general questions or come in during the subject-specific hours for in-person tutoring.

How can I print my time log from TutorTrac?

Follow these Steps:

Access TutorTrac on your browser.
Enter your “G” number in the “USER NAME” field.
Enter your password in the "Password" field. It is the same as your SOS account.
Select “Visit History” on the left panel and click the “Print” option.

How do I join an online session?

Login to TutorTrac. View your upcoming appointments. At the time of your appointment, a Zoom link will appear. Click “Enter Zoom Appointment.”

If you do not have a Zoom account, follow these instructions to create a free Zoom account.

How should I prepare for tutoring?

Tips for successful tutoring sessions:

Get started early on coursework and ask questions.
Have your materials and documents ready to share with your tutor.
Reduce distractions.
Know that the tutor does not replace your professor and does not have access to your courses.
Be patient and stay engaged.
Keep the work going after your sessions.

What services are available in the Student Success Center?

The center offers free services to San Jacinto College students, including:

Provide written references from two instructors.
Drop off the application and the references at the Student Success Center you're applying to.
